Selected fonts are not used when running Envelopes or Labels in Mail

When selecting certain fonts to use in The Raiser's Edge, available fonts are listed at Tools > User options > Mail tab. They're also found on the Label set-up and Envelope set-up in Mail. However, when the labels or envelopes are previewed, a font other than the selected one appears. The specified font is in the Open Type format.

We have evaluated this issue as a bug and we have determined it will not be addressed in the program in its current state.  In this case, we believe the risks and challenges outweigh the potential benefit of resolving this issue. Alternate workaround:

If your desired font file is affected by this issue:

Obtain and install a True Type format of the desired font on the workstation. (Note: Please contact the appropriate software vendor or IT professional for assistance with this process or issue which is beyond Blackbaud's scope of support.)

Convert the Open Type font files to the True Type font format using graphic design software or an online service, such as CloudConvert at (Note: We provide links to third-party websites in an effort to help you resolve your issue. We are not responsible for the information on third-party websites and we cannot assist with implementing resolutions from these websites.)

Steps to Duplicate

Raiser's Edge 7.95 database:
  1. Install a font of the Open Type format in the Windows font directory.
  2. Log into The Raiser's Edge
  3. Go to Mail > Envelopes and start a new Envelope setup (or Mail > Labels and start a new Label setup).
  4. On the General tab, specify the installed font from step 1.
  5. Click Preview. Envelopes (or Labels) will appear in an unspecified font, such as a Times New Roman font.
