Error: The process could not submit the file to Blackbaud. Exception: The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a receive.

When attempting to run a Data Tune-Up service the following error may occur.  This is caused by the FTP account used to submit the data to Blackbaud being down for maintenance.  This issue has been resolved for AddressFinder and DeceasedRecordFinder with the release of CRM 4.0 SP9.  We're currently evaluating the other Data Tune-Up services for a fix in a future service pack or hotfix.

I am unable to export Blackbaud CRM AddressFinder due to an error.

If you are experiencing this issue in The Raiser's Edge, please reference Error: Unable to connect to Host: 421 Account Disabled, contact administrator - in the Data Health Center (KB Article 98545).
As a temporary workaround we can white-list your IP address which will allow you to submit and process files from within the Data Tune-up.

If Blackbaud hosts your database, please create a case with Support requesting which Data Tune-Up Service you would like run.  We will then work with you to run the process.

If Blackbaud does not host your database ensure port 20 is open for incoming traffic and port 21 is open for outgoing traffic from IP address 216.235.192.143.  Then create a case with Support providing the public IP address of your BBCRM web server.  Please include all possible locations if your organization is load balanced.  Please also include which Data Tune-Up Service you would like run.  We will then work with you to run the process.  The steps below can be used to determine the IP address of you web server(s).

1.  Login to the web server used for BBCRM
2.  Open a web browser and type in http://www.whatsmyip.org/
3.  Provide the IP address that is returned
4.  Repeat process for any additional web servers used for BBCRM

If your organization is also on version 3.0 or 4.0 of Blackbaud CRM, both hosted or non-hosted, set the connection method within Data Tune-Up to active.  The steps below outline how to set the connection method.

1.  Select Administration>Data Tune-Up.
2.  Select ‘Data Tune-Up Configuration settings’.
