There may be a situation in which you would like to send a video out to your constituents. Our communications templates can accomplish this through the use of images and links, but do not allow for embedding of video HTML code.
In order to protect our sender status, we do not have a function for embedding video into our email templates. Many email providers view an email with an embedded video as spam. Having a mass email marked or reported as spam can affect both your deliverability as well as other organizations. To avoid this, we recommend taking a screenshot of your video, uploading it as an image, and then creating it into a link to your video. This makes it appear as a video to your constituents, and upon clicking it directs them to the website where your video is hosted so they can watch it.
To insert an image of your video and link to it:
1. Open the video in your browser and take a screenshot 2. Save the screenshot of the video as a jpeg using Paint or another image editing program 3. Log into eTapestry and navigate to edit your communications template 4. Click the area you'd like to insert your image into 5. Click the Insert/Edit image icon 6. Click the magnifying glass icon 7. Click Browse 8. Choose your image and click Open 9. Click Upload 10. Click on your image and it will place it in your template 11. Click on your image (nothing will appear to happen, but the image will be 'active') 12. Click the Insert/Edit link icon 13. Paste the URL of your video into the Url field 14. Click OK 15. Save your template
